The ECS-16 Temperature Controller is a compact, digital control module designed for accurate temperature measurement, regulation, and system protection in refrigeration or heating applications. It features a clear indicator interface, flexible parameter programming, and built-in defrost management, making it suitable for commercial refrigeration cabinets, chillers, heaters, and general temperature-controlled equipment.
Operational Overview
The controller uses LED indicators to show real-time operating status. During normal operation, the display shows actual temperature, while indicator icons confirm whether the unit is actively heating, cooling, or performing defrost functions. A dedicated delay indicator alerts users when the controller is executing a programmed time delay to protect the compressor or heating load.
Control Modes
The ECS-16 supports both refrigeration mode and heating mode, selectable through the configuration menu. In refrigeration mode, the controller activates the cooling load when the temperature rises above the setpoint and deactivates it once the temperature falls within the programmed hysteresis range. In heating mode, this behavior is reversed.
Defrost Function
A built-in defrost system allows periodic defrosting using adjustable parameters:
• Defrost cycle timing
• Defrost duration
• Defrost display mode (cabinet temperature, “dF,” or defrost start temperature)
This ensures stable equipment performance and prevents ice buildup in refrigerated environments.
Menu & Parameter Configuration
The ECS-16 provides two configuration levels:
User Menu – Basic operation settings
• Set temperature
• Minimum & maximum allowable temperature limits
• Access password
Administrator Menu – Advanced operation parameters
• Temperature hysteresis
• Sensor calibration
• Load start delay
• Defrost cycle & duration
• Display modes during defrost
• Heating/refrigeration mode selection
• Sensor-failure safeguard times (periodic ON/OFF cycling)
A password-protected structure (default: 55) prevents accidental adjustment of critical functions. A one-key parameter recovery feature allows restoring preset parameter groups (H1, H2, etc.).
Sensor & Safety Logic
The controller includes:
• Temperature sensor input with calibration capability
• Compressor or heater delay start to protect the load
• Automatic control behavior after sensor failure (programmable ON/OFF timing)
These safeguards improve equipment reliability and reduce risk of load damage.
