NAYAX VPOS Touch Card Reader with Pre-Authorization
Nayax VPOS Touch with incremental pre-authorization is a cashless payment terminal configured for pre-authorization instead of direct settlement. Instead of selecting an item and then paying the exact amount for the item to vend, pre-authorization allows customers to tap their card, get approved, and then go shopping—similar to an Amazon Go walk-out micro market environment. Incremental authorization is a payment feature that allows a merchant to request additional funds on a previously authorized transaction without requiring the customer to re-enter their payment credentials.
This capability is ideal for smart coolers equipped with a card reader that requires pre-authorization to unlock the door. In this case, consumers are able to unlock the door with a very small hold on their card, and if the final purchase amount exceeds the original authorization, incremental authorization with ReyVend and Nayax allows the system to increase the amount to capture the full total. Responses follow the standard authorization format, and the final settlement amount is delivered in the Cortina Credit Card Settlement request.
ReyVend, as a Nayax OEM, allows operators and distributors to enable Incremental Authorization to create a strategic advantage in the marketplace. The advantage is that consumers using a ReyVend smart cooler don’t have to worry about large $50 holds just to buy a small item.
